wolf spider at work
Saw this little guy when I was beginning to clear the trash around closing.
I first noticed his sudden scuttle into my view, then found his posture funny. Don't know if the floor was too cold, or if it was simply a nervous response to being out in the middle of the floor. Never seen one stand up so tall before.
After taking a quick photo, I ushered him into my hand, having to chase a bit as spiders don't really like being contained. Eventually, he calmed down, and I was able to head outside, hands cupped around my tiny cargo.
Decorations for fall include mums, so I placed him down in the middle of one. The color contrast was too nice to resist, and I just love how this photo turned out.
Hopefully he stays outside, enjoying the warm fall days, instead of crawling around underfoot, I'd hate if he got stepped on.
